  6. First..
  7. Make a backup of your WIN.INI and SETUP.INF files within Windows.
  8. WIN.INI should be in your WINDOWS subdirectory.
  9. SETUP.INF should be in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directoy.

  11. How To Use Dinstall:
  12.  
  13. Included within this archived file is a program called dinstall.
  14. What this does is search all the directories in your path for
  15. versions of the printer driver which you are trying to install
  16. and deleting those which are not needed.  It also will install
  17. the new driver.

  19. Commands to Run the Program:
  20.  
  21. If running from a floppy:
  22. Insert disk in drive
  23.  
  24. If running for a created subdirectory on hard drive:
  25.  
  26. 1.  Using the Program Manager within Windows choose File, Run.
  27. 2.  Type in the path and exe. (ie Command Line: b:\dinstall)
  28. 3.  This brings you to the Driver Install Window
  29. 4.  Highlight the proper driver
  30.  
  31. Note:
  32. If dinstall finds old versions it will prompt you, click YES to
  33. delete old drivers.   When installation is complete a dialog box
  34. will appear, click OK, Click Exit to leave the program.  You
  35. can now configure the printer through the Control Panel as you
  36. normally would.

  38. One word of caution:
  39. If you have installed a BETA version of the driver their entry in
  40. the system setup.inf is not removed so it will be still a printer
  41. selection option in your Control Panel until you physically
  42. remove it from the setup.inf.
